Which LMSes work with Classmax?
Classmax works with Blackboard and Canvas today, including most custom university instances. Moodle and Google Classroom are on the way; join the waitlist to be notified when they ship.
How does Classmax connect to my LMS?
You install the Chrome extension, sign in to Classmax, and visit your LMS as you normally would. The extension reads the page in your browser (no credentials shared, no scraping from our servers). Your courses sync automatically. Chrome is the only browser for now; Safari and Firefox are on the way.
Is my data private?
We only store what's needed to power your AI assistant: your course names, assignments, and any documents you choose to use with the AI. We never sell your data, never train on your data, and you can delete everything from your account at any time.
Will it work for my school?
If your school uses Blackboard or Canvas, yes, including most custom institutional domains. If we don't auto-detect your school's instance, you can add it manually from the extension popup. Moodle and Google Classroom students can join the waitlist below.
How is this different from ChatGPT?
ChatGPT doesn't know what you're studying. Classmax does. We pull your readings, briefs, and assignments into the conversation so the AI can give answers grounded in your actual coursework, not generic responses.
Is this a cheating tool?
No. Classmax is built to help you understand your coursework, not bypass it. The AI explains concepts, breaks down readings, builds study plans, and quizzes you on what you've learned. We deliberately don't position the product as a homework-answer service, and the AI is prompted to be a study partner, not a ghostwriter. You're still the one doing the learning.
How much will Pro cost?
There is a permanent free tier: sync, every deadline, 5 AI chats a day, one Draft Review and one Exam Simulator run a month. Every new account also gets 14 days of full Pro, starting when your coursework syncs rather than when you sign up. After that Pro is $9.99/mo ($69 a year), or £7.99/mo (£59 a year) in the UK. Founding members lock $6.99/£5.99 a month for as long as they keep it.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
Yes, easily. You can cancel yourself anytime from Settings — no email required — and keep Pro until the end of what you've paid for. Founding members pay nothing until October 1 and can cancel before then without ever being charged. There's a 7-day no-questions money-back guarantee on your first payment, and if Classmax stops syncing with your school and we can't fix it, we refund your current billing period in full. We also never take a card until Classmax has successfully synced with your school.
Can I use Classmax on mobile?
Right now Classmax syncs through the Chrome extension on desktop. The web app (where you chat with the AI) works on mobile browsers too, so you'll see all your synced courses there. A native mobile app is on the roadmap.
